A small-group shuttle with door-to-door service at both ends, aimed at hikers who want the PR1 without the fixed-meeting-point compromise. The van collects you at your accommodation around 6:00 am, drives up to Pico do Arieiro for sunrise, and returns you to Funchal or Caniço after the walk.
From the summit you hike freely towards Pico Ruivo, reaching 1,862 metres on Madeira's most walked mountain trail. There is no guide — the operator supplies a knowledgeable driver and the route briefing, and you set your own pace over the eight-hour window the product allows.
The operator is unusually direct about permits, and worth listening to. All non-resident hikers must pay the access fee on the official SIMplifica platform, and they strongly advise booking the 8:00 or 8:30 am slot: later slots can leave you waiting at the checkpoint and can cause you to miss your return pickup. Early slots typically sell out weeks in advance, and the operator will attempt to secure them through their tour-operator allocation if you ask.
Neither a personal guide, snacks and drinks, nor the PR1 permit fee are included in the fare.

We started with a beautiful sunrise. Then the hike with stunning views! Above the clouds, between the rugged mountain peaks and with a clear blue sky. Every step was more than worth it.
